Undeterred, he seizes the moment to pursue his boldest ambition: an invasion of the Parthian Empire, Rome’s fiercest rival. Driven by the sting of Crassus’s humiliating defeat at the Battle of Carrhae in 53 BC, where Roman standards were lost and legions slaughtered, Caesar seeks vengeance, glory, and the chance to eclipse Alexander the Great.
As Caesar’s legions march through the blistering deserts and rugged plains of Parthia, where sandy dunes and arid winds test their resolve, a young soldier, Marcus Caerellius, rises from the ranks.
